Clarence Lovelace, Sr. Obituary

Clarence William Lovelace, Sr., age 90, of 135 Oakhaven Drive, Danville, VA, died on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at SOVAH-Danville.

Mr. Lovelace was born on September 22, 1927 in Danville, VA, the son of the late Henry and  Sally Lovelace. He lived all of his life in Danville where he graduated from Hylton Hall and Lincoln Technical Institute. Mr. Lovelace was employed at Dan River Mills for 38 years as a supervisor of the paint department. After his retirement from Dan River Mills he owned and operated Lovelace Paint Contracting. Mr. Lovelace was married to Nadine Anderson Lovelace who preceded him in death on March 10, 2018. He was a veteran of the National Guard and was a member of Riverview Baptist Church.

Mr. Lovelace is survived by a daughter, Ann L Burroughs; son, Clarence W. “Sonny” Lovelace, Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Danville, VA; granddaughters, Windy B. Evans and her husband, Keath and Karen B. Price and her husband, Marvin; great-grandchildren, Zakkary Evans, Brianna Price, and Bryant Price, all of Danville, VA; sister, Marion Skinner; and his faithful companion, Krystal.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his sisters, Joyce Guill and Mary Frances Ferrell.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Highland Burial Park with the Reverend Duane Blevins officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 1097. The family will receive friends and family at the home of his son, at 137 Briarcliff Ln., Danville, VA.
