Crystal Lynn (Donavant) Averett, age 38, of Danville, died on Sunday, January 7, 2018.  Crystal was born on in Martinsville, Va on July 20, 1979, the daughter of Earl Donavant and Brenda Plott Drumm, both whom survive her.  She was of the Christian faith and was a member of Breath of Life Ministries.  She was a graduate of the Commonwealth Challenge Youth Academy in Virginia Beach, Va. as well as a graduate of Tidewater Tech.  She was a dedicated mother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She was very proud of her new baby grandson, D’Yego Averett. 

In addition to her parents, Crystal is survived by her children, Devante, Drake, Darren, and Devin Averett; the father of her children, Donald Averett; her paternal grandparents, O’Neal and Ida Donavant of Hampton, Va; her step-father, Michael Drumm; her step-mother, Deborah Donavant; her siblings, Belinda Donavant (Gregory Murray), Bridget Donavant, Melissa Weatherford, and Adam Donavant.  Other survivors include many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Crystal was predeacesed by a son, Darrington Averett.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 1:00PM at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Dean Ashby and Gloria Nelson officiating.
