Mrs. Della Mae Berkley, age 80, of Danville, VA, died on May 14, 2017.

Mrs. Berkley was born on January 23, 1937, in Surry County, NC, to the late Dewey Ray Bumgardner and May Magdelina Bumgardner.

Mrs. Berkley married the love of her life, William Jackson Berkley, on August 19, 1972 and was a member of the Schoolfield Church of the Brethren.

Mrs. Berkley is survived by her loving husband, as well as her children, Cindy Dixon (Tim), Carl Edmonds (Karen), Frenda Hicks (Jeff), Ricky Edmonds (Janet), Gray Edmonds (Denise), Stepchildren, Dale Berkley, Billy Berkley, Shirley Berkley, and Anita Berkley, her sister, Mary Dent, and her brother, Paul Bumgardner.  Mrs. Berkley also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren, thirteen step-grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 16 step-great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Berkley was predeceased by one grandson, Cory Edmonds, one sister, Virginia Cagel, and three brothers, David Bumgardner, Ray Bumdgardner, and James Bumgardner.

A Funeral Service will be conducted Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 2:00pm at Swicegood Funeral Home, with interment following at Danville Memorial Gardens with Reverend W.L. Wade and Curtis English officiating. The Berkley family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, from 6:00 to 7:30pm at Swicegood Funeral Home.  The Berkley family will be receiving friends at the residence at other times.
