Geneva Scott Harville

Geneva Scott Harville, age 92, of 253 Silver Creek Road, Danville, VA, died on Wednesday, March 07, 2018, at her residence.

Mrs. Harville was born on September 7, 1925, in Danville, VA, a daughter of the late David Luther Scott and Bessie Joe Lipford Scott. She lived most of her life in Danville, where she was employed with Dan River Mills until her retirement. Mrs. Harville attended St. Johns United Methodist Church. She was married to James W. Harville, Sr. who preceded her in death on August 10, 2004.

Mrs. Harville is survived by her children, Teresa H. Whitt (Timothy), Joey Harville, Sr.,  and James W. Harville, Jr. (Janet); grandchildren, Johnathan Harville (Kelly), Austin Whitt (Bridgette) and Joey Harville, Jr.; and great grandchildren, Amanda Harville, Johnathan Harville, Jr., Shelby Harville, Trinity Whitt and Bentley Whitt.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Doris Holder, Gertrude Scearce and Ethel Hodges; and her brother, Joseph Scott, Sr.  

A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:30 until 1:30 at the funeral home the family will also receive friends at the residence on Thursday from 1:00 until 6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
