Gloria Ann Smith

Mrs. Gloria Ann Smith, age 78, of 4381 Sandy Creek Road, Dry Fork, VA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Chatham Health & Rehab Center. 

She was born on August 12, 1941, the daughter of the late Joseph Thomas Keesee Sr. and Madelyn Keesee McGuire.  On April 17, 1961, she married Raymond E. Smith, who also predeceased her.  In addition to her husband and parents, Gloria was predeceased by one son, Timothy Smith. She had retired as a server at the Holiday Inn in Danville.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Jimmy Smith, of the residence; grandson, James Allen Smith (Heather); future great grandson, Parker Allen Smith; one sister, Carolyn Young; three brothers, Donald Howard Keesee, Joseph T. Keesee, Jr., and George T. McGuire; brother-in-law, Wilbert Smith; special caretaker, Teresa Strader, and by many nieces and nephews, and her four legged friend, Pettie.

Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Aaron officiating.   Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, and at other times, the family will be at the residence, 4381 Sandy Creek Road, Dry Fork, VA, 24549.
