Mr. Gordon Roger Booth, age 74, of 638 Newnam Road, Pelham, NC, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on February 20, 1943, in Danville, VA, to the late Isaac Gordon Booth and Eula Sigmon Booth.

Before his retirement, Mr. Booth worked in Dan River Mills and then later he worked for the City of Danville at the Water Treatment Plant. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his children: Tonia Motley and fiancée, David, of Pelham, NC and Malcolm Booth, of Danville, VA; grandchildren: Heather Morris, Isaac Booth, Joshua Booth, Luke Booth, Tyler McDaniel, Jacob McDaniel, Jessica Andrus, Elizabeth Booth, Cameron Jones, and Ethan Jones; three great-grandchildren; special nephew, Steve Bibee; special friend, Carol Capps, best friend of over 41 years, Shirleen Hall; and his buddy, Doyle Boyd.

In addition to his parents Mr. Booth was predeceased by his wife, Jearleen Booth and sons, Robert “Junior” Morris and Richard Hundley Booth.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Swicegood Funeral Home with the Reverend Michael Kent and Rev. James Mayes officiating. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 638 Newnam Rd., Pelham, NC. Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Schoolfield Cemetery.
