Gracie Hanks Obituary

Mrs. Gracie Irene Street Hanks, age 73, of 308 Hickory Forest Rd., Danville, VA, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at SOVAH Health.

She was born on September 03, 1944, in Pelham, NC to the late William Street and Maude Cook Street.

Mrs. Hanks was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her children: Donald Neely, Eric Hanks and his wife, Grainne, and Candace Brown; grandchildren: Andrew Neely, Richard Wyatt, Courtney Hanks, Heaven Brown, Michael Brown, Cayla Hanks, Angel Brown, and Nathan Hanks; great-grandchildren: Peyton Neely, Patrick Neely, Alaina Thompson, and Adalyn Lewis; and sister, Ruby Cook.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hanks was predeceased by her husband, David Wesley Hanks and brother, Eugene Street.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Barker Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the celebration of life at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Highland Burial Park.
