Hallie (Sperry) Creasy

Hallie Sperry Creasy, age 88, of Danville, VA, died Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at her residence.

Born on June 30, 1931, in Schoolfield, VA, she was the daughter of the late Claude W. and Sadie L. Simmons Sperry. She was a member of Grace Design United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She also served as a lay speaker for the United Methodist Church.

She graduated from Schoolfield High School and until recently remained active with the Schoolfield High School Reunion Group. She was a retired Rural Route Carrier for the USPS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence S. Creasy; son, Lawrence W. Creasy; granddaughter, Amanda Croll and son-in-law, Steven Pinekenstein; 

Mrs. Creasy is survived by her loving daughters, and their families, Lou Ellen Wallace (Alvin) of Rocky Mount, N.C., Susan Brooks (Don) of Chester, VA, Paula Yancey (Don) of Rustburg, VA and Laura Pinekenstein of Danville, VA; daughter-in-law, Lisa McDowell and also eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Grace Design United Methodist Church with Rev. Lauren Swanson Todd officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Grace Design United Methodist Church, 1064 Franklin Tpke, Danville, VA 24540.
