Mr. Jack Lee Scism, age 78, of 45 Laurel Ave., Danville, VA, passed away unexpectly on Monday, February 19, 2018 at his residence.
He was born on July 29, 1939, in Danville, VA, to the late Jessie Austin Scism and Agnes Tillery Scism.
Before his retirement, Mr. Scism worked as a radio announcer at WAKG. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Jack was a loving caregiver for his mother for many years, until her passing. He enjoyed playing golf and was a great competitor, until his disability prevented him from playing.
He is survived by his brothers, Don Scism and wife, Nancy and Danny Scism and wife, Vickie, all of Danville, VA; niece, Kristina Sekula; and nephew, Jacob Scism.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Scism was predeceased by his niece, Julie Scism.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Schoolfield Cemetery with Rev. Billy Scearce officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Swicegood Funeral Home.
