James Newsome, Jr.

James “Jimmy” Newsome, Jr., age 67, of 226 Holland Rd, Pelham, NC, died on July 24, 2018 at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville, NC.

Mr. Newsome was born on October 9, 1950, in Danville, VA, to the late James Newsome, Sr. and Myrtle Underwood Newsome. He worked as a welder and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Newsome is survived by a daughter, Sandy Carver (Mark); a grandson, Briston Carver; a sister, Phyllis McDowell (Gary); a sister-in-law, Sandra Newsome; a special cousin, Christine Setliff Lampley; and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Ronnie Lee Newsome, Sr.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 2 P.M. at Mt. View Cemetery with Dr. Charles Scearce officiating.
