Katherine Ligon Obituary
Mrs. Katherine Austin Ligon, age 87, of 1069 Pounds Rd., Sutherlin, VA, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Stratford Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Danville, VA.
She was born on January 30, 1931, in Hudson, NC, to the late Ernest Austin and Sallie Butler Austin.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Ligon worked as an inspector at Dan River Mills and was of the Christian faith.
She is survived by her daughters, Marietta Connor, of Danville, VA and Angela Ligon, of Baltimore, MD; grandsons, Timothy Wade Walker and his wife, Virginia; and Seth Walker, all of Sutherlin, VA.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ligon was predeceased by her husband, Rodney Berkley Ligon.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Swicegood Funeral Home with Virginia Walker speaking. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
