Lowell Neal Baynes

Mr. Lowell Neal Baynes, age 79, of Danville, VA, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Roman Eagle Health and Rehabilitation.

He was born on January 04, 1940, in Pittsylvania Co., VA, to the late Charlie Nathan Baynes and Elizabeth Smith Baynes.

Before his retirement, Mr. Baynes worked at Dan River Mills for 25 years and was of the Baptist faith. His hobbies included listening to Blue Grass Music and Classic County Music.

He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Baynes Waller and husband, Marvin; brother, Ray Winston Baynes; daughter, Kelli Weatherford and husband, Herbie; grandchildren, Haley and Paige Weatherford; sister-in-law, Lucille Baynes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Baynes was predeceased by his sisters, Jean Baynes McGuire, Edna Parker, Cecile Hardy, and Lillie Moore; and brother, Charlie Baynes

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Swicegood Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Scearce officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Schoolfield Cemetery. At other times, the family will be at the residence of his sister, Carolyn Baynes Waller, 118 Bridgewater Ct., Danville, VA.
