Lucille Marshall Turman McGuire, age 92, of Ridgecrest Drive, Danville, VA, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. McGuire was born on February, 15, 1925, in Dugspur, VA, a daughter of the late Mack N. Marshall and Ocie Goad Marshall. Mrs. McGuire worked at Dan River Mills and as a homemaker. She attended Sandy Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. McGuire’s family was the love of her life. In 1942 she married Cecil Turman who was killed in action in 1944. Later she married Calvin Mac McGuire on July 13, 1948. They were married for 59 years before he preceded her in death.

Mrs. McGuire is survived by her brother, Verdon Marshall and wife, Nannie; sister-in-law, Hazel Marshall; nephews, Ronnie and Tony Marshall, all of Dugspur, VA; great niece, Elizabeth Lester and husband Aaron of Pulaski, VA; great nephew, Anthony Marshall and wife, Jennifer of Dugspur, VA; two nieces and best friends and caretakers, Ethel Whitt, Vickie Davis and Sarah McGuire; and one special cousin, Carol Cockram.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brothers, Carson Marshall, and Velmon Marshall and wife, Vella Mays Marshall.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Swicegood Funeral Home with the Reverend Jimmy Bibee and the Reverend Morris Adkins officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 until 2:00 PM on Sunday before the service. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
