Mary Ellen Booher

Mary Ellen Booher, age 83, of 1488 David Giles Lane, Blairs, VA, died on Monday, June 11, 2018, at SOVAH-Danville.

Mrs. Booher was born on January 30, 1935 in Greensboro, NC, a daughter of the late Ralph Oliver Payne and Sammy Prather Payne. She lived most of her life in Blairs, VA where she was employed with Commonwealth Home Health Care as a nurse’s aide. Mrs. Booher was aa member of Jubilee Christian Fellowship Church.

Mrs. Booher is survived by her husband, Darold Booher, of the residence; daughter, Vickie Booher Horton (James); son, Billy Wayne Booher; grandchildren, Stephanie Horton, Christina Richmond, Sabrina Fowlkes (Clay), Joshua Horton (Jennifer), and Chris Booher (Hannah Scearce); ten great grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Nicholson, Lera Smith and Margaret Gray.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Ricky Booher; a daughter, Robin Booher Romero; brothers, Buddy Payne, Tommy Payne, and James Payne; sisters, Macy Gray and Ruby Gonzales.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Danville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Roy Frazier officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at Swicegood Funeral Home.
