Michael Nathaniel Austin

Mr. Michael Nathaniel Austin, age 70, of 940 Robinhood Rd., Callands, VA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 19, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on June 14, 1947, in Fresno, CA, to Clara Bryant Austin and the late Rex Austin.

Mr. Austin worked as a truck driver and a mechanic and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He is survived by his wife, Shelia Grayson Austin, of the residence; children, Michael Austin, Jr., Richard Austin, and Terry Peterson; grandchildren, Amanda Austin, Levi Peterson, Andrew Austin, Shandie Peterson, Breanna Diffey, Daniel Austin, Amber Peterson, Shelia Peterson, and Isabella Austin; great-grandchildren: Ayianna Jones, Presleigh Jones, Richard Austin, Nova Jones, and Daniel Austin; siblings, Shelia Miller, Carol Spangler, Rexaine Austin, Penny Warkentin, Steve Austin, and Kathleen Austin.

In addition to his father, Mr. Austin was predeceased by his great-granddaughter, Braelynn Jones.

Celebration of life will be conducted on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Swicegood Funeral Home with Bishop Matthew Evans officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to help with Mr. Austin’s funeral expenses. Donations can be made at Swicegood Funeral Home, 564 West Main St., Danville, VA 24541.
