Myrtle (Crumpton) Yarbrough

Myrtle Crumpton Yarbrough, age 93, of Danville, VA, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at SOVAH-Danville.

She was born on June 8, 1925, in Caswell County, NC, a daughter of the late Eli L. Crumpton and Bertha Gentry Crumpton. Mrs. Yarbrough had lived in Danville since 1950 and was married to Lynwood Jones Yarbrough who preceded her in death. She was a member of West End Christian Church. 

Mrs. Yarbrough was predeceased by son, Vance Yarbrough. She is survived by a son, Tim Yarbrough and his wife, Vicky; grandchildren, Jody Y. Broyles and husband, John; Ashley Y. Jenkins and husband, Jack; and Staci Y. Doss and husband, Ken; great-grandchildren, Travis, Reese, Drew, Walker, and Easton; siblings, Lemma Blackstock, Margaret Arnold, Shirley Motley, Phyllis Seamster, and Larry Crumpton.

In addition to her parents, husband and son, she was predeceased by siblings, Herman, Troy, Eli, Bobby, Harold, Ray, Bennie Crumpton, and Helen Talbert.  

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Mt. View Cemetery with Rev. Tom Dalton officiating. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Swicegood Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Danville Life Saving Crew, 202 Christopher Ln, Danville, VA, 24541.
