Nannie (Purgason) Eanes

Mrs. Nannie Purgason Eanes, age 104, of Danville, VA, went to be with her Lord and savior on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Roman Eagle Health & Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Eanes was born on August 28, 1915, in Pittsylvania County, VA, to the late William Henry Purgason and Alice Cumbie Purguson. She later married Henry Lee Eanes, Sr. who preceded her in death. She worked at and retired from Dan River Mills, Inc. and was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Eanes is survived by her daughter Jeannette Toler and granddaughter, Jennifer Toler.

In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Eanes was predeceased by her son Henry L. “Hinky” Eanes, Jr.; sisters, Zettie Bingham, Hallie Martin and Mattie C. Purgason; brothers, Norman Purgason, Herman Purgason and Garnett Purgason.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 2 PM at Highland Burial Park with Rev. David Turbyfill officiating. Visitation will be held at 1:30 PM until 2 PM at the graveside.
