Nannie "Nan" Cahill (Vaden) Davidson

Nannie “Nan” Vaden Cahill Davidson, age 92, of 516 Park Avenue, Danville, VA, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at her residence.

Mrs. Davidson was born on September 23, 1926, in Danville, VA, a daughter of the late Grover A. Vaden and Mattie B. Ingram Vaden. She lived her life in Martinsville, VA until 1970 and then spent twenty years in California before returning to Danville. Mrs. Davidson loved to dance and was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Davidson is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Cahill LoMonaco (Rudy) of Savannah, GA, Diane Cahill Whitlock of Waynesville, NC, Connie Cahill Wright of Danville, VA and Alecia Cahill of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Angela Whitlock Dove (Ira), Andrew Everett Wright, Cynthia Noel Cradduck (Aaron), Amanda Avery Gall, and Rebekah Joanna Gall; great grandchildren, Nina Dove and Torin Dove; sisters, Lillian Vaden and Mary Vaden Goodman.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Isaac Cahill; second husband, James Albert Davidson; brothers, Herman Vaden and Eddie Vaden; sister, Dorothy Vaden “Pete” Oglesby; and brothers-in-law, Vincent Oglesby and Otha Goodman “Squeeky.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Swicegood Funeral Home with the Reverend David Turbyfill officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1079 Spruce St # C, Martinsville, VA 24112.
