Octavia "Mae" Gibson Doss

Octavia “Mae” Gibson Doss, age 97, of Danville, Va. passed away at her home on May 16, 2018.  She was born on May 31, 1920, in Pittsylvania County, Va. She was predeceased by her husband, of 58 years, William McKinley Doss.  She was also predeceased by two sisters, Blanche Williams and Lilllian Adkins; a step-daughter, Jackie Pennington; a son-in-law, Harold Hubbard; and step-great-grandson, Justin Tucker.

She is survived by her children, Ronnie Doss (Diane), Joe Doss (Martha), Shirley Hubbard, and Donnie Doss (Ann); and step-daughter, Jennie Wolersheim.  Also surviving are grandchildren, Pat Shelton, Mack Doss, Greg Doss, and Angie Adams; special granddaughter, Deidre Elliott; step-granddaughter, Deborah Seward, and step-grandson Wayne Holley, Jr.; six great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, and two nieces.

Funeral services for Mrs. Doss will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Ryan Riley officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.   Interment will follow in the Doss Family Cemetery in Museville.  The family will be receiving friends at other times at the residence.
