Ralph Daniel Merricks

Mr. Ralph Daniel Merricks, age 73, of Danville, Va., went home to be with our Lord on July 4, 2019, at Roman Eagle Health & Rehabilitation Center where his caregivers were like extended family. Mr. Merricks was born on August 23, 1945, in Danville, Va., to the late Carlton Merricks, Sr. and Florence Scearce Merricks. He worked at Danville Plywood Company and he faithfully worshipped the Lord at Mt. Hermon, The Tabernacle and Westover Baptist Church. Mr. Merricks is survived by his two nieces, Kim Merricks Motley and husband, L.A. Motley and Karen Merricks Tucker; one nephew, Austin Merricks and his wife, Rhonda; great niece, Callie N. Motley; also, Ryan L. Motley and his wife, Amanda. In addition to his parents, Mr. Merricks was predeceased by his brother Carlton Austin “C.A.” Merricks, Jr. and nephew, Greg Tucker. Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, July 7, 2019, at 4 p.m. at Highland Burial Park with Pastor Paul Nelson officiating.
