Ronald Morris Burnett died on September 12, 2017 at Piney Forest Health and Rehabilitation where he had been a patient for five days.

Morris, as he was known to all, was born on January 11, 1944 to the late Bedford Thomas Burnett and Beatrice Burnett in Danville, Virginia.

All of his life was spent in Pelham North Carolina.  Morris graduated from Cobb Memorial High School in 1962.  He later attended DCC and Averett University.  His career began in retail, but he later shifted gears to become the circulation manager for the Danville Register and Bee, or as it was known then, simply the Register and Bee.

He was an avid Nascar fan and attended many races.  Morris’ love for racing led to a new found interest in the British Car Club where he participated in many functions.

Morris is survived by three cousins and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Swicegood Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held immediately following the visitation at Stokesland Cemetery, with Reverend Thomas Millner officiating.
