Ms. Shannon Darnell Cox, age 52, of Danville, VA, went to sleep in the arms of Jesus July 19, 2017 at Mount Hermon Manor.

Shannon was born on December 1, 1964, in Danville, VA, to Patsy Merricks Hamlett and Robert Dewey Cox, Jr. Ms. Cox was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents she left behind to cherish her memory sister, Roxanne Oakes (Harold); and aunt, Judy Wallace (Randall); also, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Danville Memorial Gardens with the Reverend James Mays officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, July 24, 2017 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel.
