Sylvia (Samuels) Powell

Sylvia Samuels Powell, age 77 of Danville, VA, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019, at SOVAH-Danville.

Mrs. Powell was born on January 21, 1942, in Danville, VA, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Lola Newman Samuels. She lived her life in Danville where she was employed with Schewel’s Furniture Company as a sales person.

Mrs. Powell is survived by her son, Kenneth Powell; grandchildren, Jessica Myrick (Justin), Jordan Powell, Kayleigh Morgan, and Dusty Rose; great grandchildren, McKinley, Mason and Pierce; sister, Landa James and by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a daughter Cynthia Rose.

The family will receive friends at her son’s residence, 3021 Ringgold Church Road, Ringgold, VA, on Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Danville Humane Society, 996 South Boston Rd, Danville, VA 24540.
