Tara Marquis “Fru Fru” Stokes was called to rest on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 28, 1969 in Danville, Virginia, the daughter of Clarence E. and Elaine Crosby Stokes.
Miss. Stokes was educated in the Danville Public Schools having graduated from George Washington High School in 1989, and she was employed at her death by Piggly Wiggly-Nor Dan.
At an early age, she was baptized as a member of the Saint James Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Elmer E. Abbott where she served as a member of the Gospel Chorus, the Missionary Circle, and served on the Kitchen Committee.
In addition to her parents Miss. Stokes leaves to cherish many fond memories: her grandfather, Preston Price, Sr., six uncles, four aunts, and a host of cousins, other relatives and very close friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Barker Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Williamson officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park in Danville, VA. The family will receive friends at the residence: 635 Berryman Ave., Danville, VA. A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 6 pm until 8 pm at Barker Funeral Home.
