Mr. Timothy Wayne “Bonzo” Oakes, age 53, of Danville, VA received total healing as he went to be with his
Lord and Savior on June 11, 2018, while surrounded by friends and family.
He was born on July 26, 1964, in Person County, NC, to Douglas and Dorothy Oakes, who survive.
He is also survived by his wife of 30Years, Tonya Oakes; his son Robbie Oakes of the residence; and
his daughter, Xandi Lancaster (Nathan) of Danville. He is also survived by his in-laws, David and Essie Evans
of Danville, and his two special nieces “his Monkeys” Madison and Michaela Jones of Blairs; a devoted sister-in-law,
Tammy Mustain of Danville, who walked this journey with us. Many other survivors include brother and
sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles,cousins and friends. Tim had worked as a commercial driver for Auto Zone
and was of the Christian faith.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Barker Funeral Home with
Pastor Jim Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Schoolfield Cemetery. The family will receive
Friends at Barker Funeral Home Chapel one hour prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at
the residence, 149 Schoolfield Drive, Danville.
