Alice (Aherron) Teague

Alice Alease Aherron Teague passed away peacefully on July 27th, 2023 at the age of 94 with her family by her side.

She was born on Sunday, November 18th, 1928 to the late Isaiah Profitt and Mamie Conner Aherron in Birch Creek, VA. Alice was the 8th of 11 children. Her family was always her priority and that became even more evident when she became a mother. First in 1946 with the arrival of her daughter, Christine and again in 1959, when she gave birth to her son, Roy Jr. She wed Roy Teague Sr on April 18th, 1952 and they shared 41 years of marriage together before his passing in 1993 at the age of 72.

Alice retired after more than 30 years as a seamstress at Dan River Mills. She often enjoyed gardening, sewing and baking, but most of all she loved spending time with those closest to her, especially her beloved dogs. Alice was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She lived a long and beautiful life and will be truly missed.

In addition to her parents, Alice is predeceased by her husband Roy Teague Sr; her brothers Percy, Willie, Hurley, Buck, Jim and Jack; her sisters Hester, Helen, Eva and Jeanette; and her children Christine Martin and Roy Teague Jr. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Kris Teague of Kernersville, NC; her grandchildren Tim Goforth (Lorna) of Secorra, NM and Crystal Hunt (Jody) of Archdale, NC; and her great-grandchildren McKayla Teague and Dylan Crumbley of Kernersville, NC.

Her funeral will be held at Swicegood Funeral Home 564 W Main St, Danville, VA 24541 on Sunday, August 6th at 2:00pm with a graveside memorial immediately following the service. The family will be accepting visitors for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
