Bobby Holland

Bobby Morton Holland, 78, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on December 1, 2022.  He was a loving husband to his wife, Linda E. Holland, for exactly 22 years.  A wonderful and proud father, papa, family man, friend and a faithful servant to both God and his country.

Bobby was born on June 29, 1944 in Axton, Virginia to the late Drewry Willard Holland and Eula Clark Holland.  In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his daughter and angel, Sarah Beth Holland; brothers Willard “Bill” Holland and James “Jimmy” Holland; sister, Mildred H. Lawrence.

He is survived by his wife, Linda E. Holland; Son, Steve Holland (Angel); Daughter, Amy Ketchum Gillispie (Mark); 4 grandchildren, Daylan Holland, Chase Holland, Tyler Holland and Khloe James; sister, Frances Bledsoe; sister-in-law, Carolyn Holland; several nieces and nephews; special friend and caregiver, John Whitten; and their kitty, Boo-Boo.

Bobby graduated from Drewey Mason High School in 1962.  Immediately after, he entered Virginia National Guard Basic Training in Fort Jackson, SC.  He then went on to Advanced Artillary Training in El Paso, TX.  He served 3 years in the Army National Guard and 8 years in the Army Reserve.  He was the last Owner and Operator of Axton Mobile Home Movers.  He was a dedicated member of State Line Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board and Chairman of the Baptist Men’s Association.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 4 from 4-6pm at State Line Baptist Church, 651 Holland Road, Danville.  Funeral Services will be Monday, December 5 at 11:00am at State Line Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to State Line Baptist Church or the Danville Humane Society.
