Carolyn (Wood) Barker

Carolyn Wood Barker went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Sovah Danville.

Carolyn was born August 11, 1937, to the late Jessie Wilson Wood and Virgie Carroll Wood. She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice Lee Barker Sr.; and her son, Maurice Lee Barker Jr.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Jan Barker Sylvester (William Arthur Sylvester) of Cary, NC; daughter in law, Sheila Smith Barker of Milton, NC; brothers, Jesse Wayne Wood and Larry Michael Wood (Stephana) of Yanceyville, NC; grandchildren, Samuel Lee Barker (Dianna) of Yanceyville, NC, William Maurice Barker (Kimberly) of Sutherlin, VA, Richard Galen Sylvester (Jessica) of Fuquay Varina, NC and Kathryn Leigh Sylvester of Winston-Salem, NC; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Carolyn was the secretary for Barker Auto Sales Inc. and Storage and was also a member of Semora United Methodist Church in Semora, NC.

Graveside services will be conducted at Prospect United Methodist Church in Yanceyville, NC on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 2:00pm
