Carroll Yates, Sr.

Mr. Carroll Yates, Sr., age 76, of Danville, VA, went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2018 at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Yates was born on May 4, 1942, in Chatham, VA, to the late Ryland Yates and Gertrude Boles Yates. He was the Pastor of The Log Cabin Church until his retirement and was a member of the First Church of the Living God.

Mr. Yates is survived by his beloved wife Mary Yates; children, Linda Finch (Bill), Carroll Yates, Jr. (Dina), Carolyn Covington (Fred), Jeffery Yates; grandchildren, Charlie Snead (Alican), William Yates (Sandra), Amanda Elaine Clayton (Jessie), Trenton Covington, Lisa Francis (Mike),  Melodie Scearce (Thomas), Crystal Rominger (Mikey), Zachariah Covington; twelve great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; brothers, Lyle Yates (Jackie), Wayne Yates (Carol), R.L. Yates (Betty) numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and uncles.

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 2 PM at Highland Burial Park with Pastor Michael Leath and Pastor Marcus Heffinger officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 12:30 until 1:30 at Swicegood Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of Linda Finch, 213 Stratford Place, Danville, VA 24541.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Danville Life Saving Crew, 202 Christopher Ln, Danville, VA 24541.
