Charles Gordon Payne

Mr. Charles Gordon Payne, age 73, of Danville, Virginia, passed on August 23, 2021.

Mr. Payne was born on December 29, 1947, in Danville, to the late Lester and Elizabeth Payne.

Mr. Payne was a gentle and quiet man. He was raised on a tobacco farm, and he loved his chewing tobacco. He also loved his niece Kathy Martin, who has been by his side her entire life. She was the light of his life. He was a devoted Christian of the Baptist faith. He lived a Christian life and loved reading his Bible daily.  He loved watching old westerns, his family, and his dogs. He adored animals, especially his dog, Stella.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Payne was predeceased by his sister, Sally Ann Hooker, and brothers, Travis and David Payne.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 2PM at Schoolfield cemetery with Dr. Charles Scearce officiating.

Mr. Payne will be dearly missed and loved forever.
