Christine (Williams) Wheeler

Christine W. Wheeler, age 84, went to be with her Lord on­­­­­­­­­ October 4th , 2019 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter, in Wilmington, NC.      

Born on December 7, 1934 in Danville, VA; a daughter of the late John Fosco Williams and Rosa Hollandsworth Williams.  She was employed with Dan River Mills at the Executive Center and a member of New Life Community Church.  Ms. Wheeler enjoyed walking, working in her yard and reading.  Her true joy came from reading God’s word; she was an amazing prayer warrior.

 She is survived by her son, Donnie Wheeler and her daughter, Susan Weis (Matt); grandchildren Rachael Vernon (Austin), Mackenzie Weis (Cory), Zackary Wheeler, Camden Weis, and Sarah Wheeler; great-grand daughters Layton and Genevieve Vernon; sister Elaine Martin, brother Reuben Williams (Joanne) and many nieces and nephews. 

 She is predeceased by her parents as well as her sisters Katherine McKinney, Gladys Smith, Bethel Wright, Pearl Williams and her brother Elmo Williams.

 Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, October 12, 2019 – 12:00pm at Swicegood Chapel with Pastor Joseph White officiating. Visitation will precede the service at 11:00am at the funeral home.

 In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to New Life Community Church, 3837 US HWY 29, Danville Va 24540 or Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Dr. Wilmington, NC 28401.
