Mr. David Franklin Wyatt, also known as “Crock”, age 60, of Danville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2021, at Lynchburg General Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Wyatt was born on August 28, 1961, in Danville, to the late Garland Wyatt and Bettye Taylor Wyatt. He lived his life in Danville where he later retired in his career as an embalmer and funeral director. Throughout his life, he worked at a numerous amount of funeral homes, including holding a manager position for 9-10 years. He attended Tunstall High School and graduated with the class of 1980. After, he continued his education at Gupton-Jones College in Atlanta, Georgia where he graduated in 1988 with an associate degree in Mortuary Science. He enjoyed fishing, laughing, music, friends, and most of all his wife and kids. Mr. Wyatt was a member of a Christian Gospel band known as “Crimson.” On August 16, 2008, he married his beloved wife, Kimberly Barbour Wyatt.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Wyatt is survived by his children, Taylor Wyatt, Brooklyn Wyatt, Adam Wyatt (Jennifer), Patrick Wyatt, Amber Moore and Jadyn Nuckles; grandchildren, Landon and Harper Grace Wyatt; brother, James Wyatt (Billie); nephew, Bobby Wyatt, Jr.; sister-in-law, Linda Wyatt.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wyatt was predeceased by his brothers, G. Wayne Wyatt, Robert “Bobby” Wyatt, and Billy Wyatt.
A memorial service will be conducted Friday, October 22nd at 6 PM at Swicegood Funeral Home with Reverend Roger Ewing officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service.
