Mr. Dennis Lee Duncan, Sr. age 73, of Danville, Virginia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of April 25, 2021 due to complications of a head injury from a fall.
Mr. Duncan was born on May 21, 1947, to the late Topsie Quesenberry Duncan and Louis Duncan. He lived his life in Danville where he worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for 33 years and was a Vietnam Veteran in the Navy. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was very passionate about dancing. He never met a stranger and was known for helping anyone he could. Mr. Duncan was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Duncan is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jeanette Gatewood Duncan; sister, Dennia Shorts; children, Dennis (Lee) Duncan, Jr. and Tammy Duncan Triplett. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Duncan was predeceased by his siblings, Lawson Duncan and Anna Phillips.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 29 at 2 PM at Swicegood Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Thurman officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 1097 A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that any donations be made to Alcoholics Anonymous located at 535 Wilsons Street, Danville, Virginia 24541.
