Donald Thomas Williams, 78, of 512 Ingram Street, passed on July 8, 2021, at his residence.
Born August 13, 1942, he was a faithful employee of Corning Glass until his retirement. Don was a graduate of George Washington High School and a veteran of the Vietnam conflict. He was a much-loved member of Melville Avenue Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and supported missions’ efforts through generous giving.
Donald Williams, as an only child, was predeceased by his parents Carlisle Williams and Dovie Mae Green Williams.
He leaves behind only distant cousins, but he leaves many friends and a church family who miss him.
Don loved to sing, and he sang for a time in a Barbershop Quartet. He also enjoyed impersonating the voice of Elvis Presley, and he might say to us now, through the words of this obituary, “Thank you. Thank you very much.”
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 4PM at Melville Avenue Baptist Church in Danville. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.
Swicegood Funeral Home is respectfully serving the Williams family.
