Elizabeth (Morris) Adkins

Mrs. Elizabeth Morris Adkins, age 88, of Danville, VA, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at her residence.

She was born on November 28, 1932, in Clarksville, VA, to the late Andrew Jackson Morris and Barbara Ford Morris.

Before her retirement, Mrs. Adkins worked as a weaver in Dan River Mills. She attended Fellowship Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori Kies, of Tenn.; grandchildren, Duane Adkins, Joshua Adkins, Leland Franklin, Karl Cody Smith, Savannah Kies, and Maharaja “Palzee” Kies, Jr.; brothers, Lawrence Morris (Alice) and Rufus Morris (Marion); and nieces and nephews, Stacy Morris, Jennifer Morris, Weldon Morris, Allen Morris, Allen Adkins, and Darlene Redd.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adkins was predeceased by her children, Larry Adkins, Lana Mae Adkins, Lisa Franklin, and Lila Gayle Adkins, and brother, Edwin Morris.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Swicegood Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Black Walnut Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence on Friday, October 22, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
