Eloise Walker Campbell

Eloise Walker Campbell, age 98, of Danville, Virginia, passed away on Saturday July 16,2022, at Riverside Health and Rehab.

Eloise was born on January 18,1924, in Pittsylvania County, to the late Taylor B. Walker and Minnie Roach Walker.

Eloise worked as a weaver with Dan River Mill until her retirement and was an active member at Forest Lawn Baptist Church until the decline of her health. Eloise’ biggest joy in life was her family and always enjoyed being in their company. Eloise loved being in her garden planting flowers and traveling across the East Coast. On July 3, 1954, she married Lester Otis "Simon" Campbell who preceded her in death on May 24, 2002.

Eloise is survived by her daughter Anita Campbell Jones; grandchildren, Chelsea Jones, Erik Jones, and Allison Jones; great grandchildren, Kayleigh McCann, and Riley McCann. Also surviving is numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents Eloise was predeceased by her son in law Dean Jones; brothers, Kenney Walker, Fanico Walker, Junior Walker, and Leonard Walker; sisters, Bertha Simpson, Viola Barrett, and Susie Perkins.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday July 22 at 12 pm at Swicegood Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Rogers officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.
