Else T. Liggon

On March 28, 2021, Else T. Liggon passed away at the age of 83.

Else was born to Olga Mortensen and Jens F. Tang in 1937.  She was educated in Denmark, France, and graduated Averett University with a master’s degree. Else retired from Danville Community College with 37 years of service as Financial Aid Supervisor.  She was married to Bobby G. Liggon and raised one son, Robert.

Else was very dedicated to her family and career.  She was loved by all who knew her and cherished any time with family or friends.  Else was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church.   Else enjoyed the arts and was well traveled during her lifetime.

Else is preceded in death by her parents, Olga and Jens.  Else is also preceded in death by her husband Bobby and they are together again in Heaven.  She is survived by her brother Jens and his daughters’ families.  Else is also survived by her son Robert and her three granddaughters, Amanda, Cora, and Andrea who she loved so very much.  Lastly, she is survived by numerous family members and friends on both sides of the Atlantic who will miss her very much.

A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Friday, April 9 at 4:00 PM.  Anyone who knew Else is welcome at her residence at 359 Surry Lane before and after the service.
