Esta "Corky" Linwood Lewis

Esta "Corky" Linwood Lewis, age 91, of Ringgold, VA, went to be with his Lord and Savior and his loving wife, Ruby “Red” on Monday, November 4, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Lewis was born on May 25, 1928, in Pittsylvania County, VA, a son of the late Claude D. Lewis and Mamie Weatherford Lewis. He was employed with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. from 1972 until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church and was married to Ruby Barber Lewis who preceded him in death.

Mr. Lewis is survived by his children, Lawana L. Lewis (Roger) and Terry L. Lewis; sister, Virginia Mozelle Nowell (Nookes); sister-in-law, Gloria Ann Lewis; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Lewis; grandchildren, Tammy Bobruska (Nick), Ron Lewis (Sharon), Todd Abbott, John Abbott, Robert Lewis (Suzanne), Erica Michaels (Damian), James Lewis (Crystal), David Lewis (Erin), Scotty Wells; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by two sons, Ricky D. Lewis and Ronnie C. Lewis; daughter-in-law, Sadie Lewis; siblings, Estelle Ware (William), Lily Mae Ware, Claude J. Lewis (Helen) (Marjorie), Ellis Lewis (Lucille), Polly Gentry, Billy Lewis; and brother-in-law, Bobby Nowell.

Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 3 PM at Sandy Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Bibee officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the church, and at other times the family will be at Lawana’s residence, 2364 Sandy Creek Church Rd., Ringgold, VA, 24586.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Ringgold Volunteer Fire Department, 3880 Tom Fork Rd, Ringgold, VA 24586.
