Evelyn Herndon

Evelyn Wilson Herndon, age 87, of Axton, VA, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022.

Mrs. Herndon was born on May 1, 1935, in Henry County, VA, a daughter of the late Monroe Wilson and Ora Minter Wilson. She lived most of her life in Axton where she was a member of Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Herndon loved spending time with her family, going, shopping, working puzzle books, camping and church work. She was married to Roy Herndon who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Herndon is survived by her son, Phillip Keatts (Penny); grandchildren, Charles Keatts, Denise Ingram, Brian Keatts, Dennis Keatts, and Christopher Keatts; thirteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; and one brother, Garland Wilson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, James Wilson, Marie Tatum, Walter Wilson, and Claude Wilson; and her grandchildren, Savannah Keatts and Wallace Herndon, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Steve Tatum officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. At other times the family will receive friends at her residence, 1960 Riley Farm Rd. Axton, VA. Interment will follow in the Herndon Family Cemetery.
