Evelyn (Childers) Wooten

Evelyn Childers Wooten, age 77, of Danville, VA, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 03, 2019 at SOVAH Health-Danville, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on March 16, 1942, in Pikeville, KY, to the late Lawrence Childers and Alva Hawkins Childers. Mrs. Wooten was one of nine children.

Mrs. Wooten worked at Dan River Mills, until her retirement and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her son, Mark Wooten and wife, Margaret; grandsons, Andrew Wooten and wife, Dixie; and Steven Wooten; great-granddaughter, Leigha Wooten; brother, Dan ; and sister, Gail.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wooten was predeceased by son, William Lee Wooten; granddaughter, Landi Wooten; and six siblings.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 06, 2019 at Swicegood Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Scearce officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation, 10400 Little Patuxent Parkway Suite 480, Columbia, MD 21044.
