Frances (Shorter) Tolley

Frances Tolley, age 95, of Danville, VA, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021, at Riverside Healthcare Center.

Mrs. Tolley was born on December 31, 1925, in Danville, VA, a daughter of the late Charlie Washington Shorter and Efie Myrtle Collins Shorter. She lived most of her life in Danville where she was employed with Woolworth’s until her retirement. After retirement she worked as a babysitter for many children. Mrs. Tolley was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She was married Eugene Tolley, Jr. who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Tolley is survived by her great niece, Linda Ellis and many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Eugene Tolley III; five brothers and five sisters.

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Danville Memorial Gardens with Reverend Rick Markham officiating.
