Garland "G.W." Dix, III

Mr. Garland “G.W” Dix, III., 59, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020.

Garland was born on March 3, 1960 to Garland and Phyllis Dix in Eden, NC. He worked for Lawrence Service Group for over 15 years. Garland was a very hardworking man and developed many personal relationships over the years. He always had a smile and loved being around his grandson. Garland loved music and playing guitar, and loved fishing with his son Rocky. He will be lovingly remembered by his friends and family.

Garland was preceded in death by his girlfriend, Angela Fulton; parents, Garland and Phyllis Dix, and brothers, Johnny Dix and Steve Dix. He is survived by his son, Rocky Dix (Bridgette); sister, Patsy Dix Townes; grandson, Tristan Dix; and nieces, Brandy Ingram and Felicia Townes.

Visitations will be held both in Durham, NC and Danville, VA. First visitation will take place Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home, 211 S. Miami Blvd. Durham, NC 27703. The second visitation will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Swicegood Funeral Home, 564 W Main St, Danville, VA 24541. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Duke Hospice and HomeCare at 4321 Medical Park Dr. #101, Durham, NC 27704.
