Garnett Morris Moran

Garnett Morris Moran of Ruffin, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday April 19, 2023 at Roman Eagle Rehab and Healthcare Center.  He was born April 1, 1933 in Danville, Virginia to Rev. Leonard and Ada Salmons Moran. He was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. 
 

Morris was married to the love of his life, Rebecca Jean Blackwell Moran who predeceased him April 13, 2010.  

He was a faithful member of Central Blvd Church of God for many years and supported missions and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. 

He is the last member of his family.  He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Norman, Eugene, Otis, Doug, Billy and Gerald Moran and his sister, Iris Moran.   

He is survived by his sisters-in-law Peggy, Alma, Linda, Carolyn and Jeanie Moran and Barbara Blackwell Schaeffer as well as several nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to thank his cousin, Gladys Moran Brown for the care and attention she provided during his illness the last year.

Funeral service will be conducted by Rev.  Travis Gore and Rev. John Meadows Monday, April 24, 2023 at Central Blvd Church of God at 2:00 pm. Family will receive visitors one hour prior to service. 

Interment will follow at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church cemetery Hwy 700, Ruffin, NC. 

Memorial contributions can be made to Central Blvd Church of God building fund, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews or God’s Pit Crew.
