Gaynelle Jordan Setliff

Gaynelle Jordan Setliff, 83, of Danville, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 16, 2021 at SOVAH Health in Danville as a result of COVID-19.

 Mrs. Setliff was born on June 13, 1937, in Danville, the daughter of the late James H. Jordan and Goldie M. Jordan. She attended Schoolfield High School and graduated from George Washington High School in 1955. She began her work career as a bookkeeper for Danville Lumber Company and Virginia Carolina Veneer. She later worked for Schoolfield Bank & Trust Company and Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute until her retirement.

 She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Lonnie Ralph Setliff on August 24, 2000 and her second husband, Marion Setliff on March 20, 2017.

She is survived by her two daughters, Pamela Setliff Patterson (Edd Shelton) and Donna Setliff Comper (Mike) both of Danville; a step-daughter Sandy Setliff Collins, and a very special nephew, Ronald Keith Setliff (Tammy); three grandchildren: Ryan Louis Comper of Oceanside, California, Jacob Chadwyck Patterson and Emily Jordan Comper, both of Danville. She leaves behind her beloved dog Sadie who was her constant companion. She was a member of Sandy Shores Baptist Church. Our mom was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, “Ammie”. Her greatest pleasure was time spent with her family while vacationing, enjoying special occasions and holidays, and family meals. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She will be dearly missed and she will forever remain in our hearts and minds.

 A graveside service will be held at Danville Memorial Gardens on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 2 PM with the Rev. Darrell Joyce officiating.

 The family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice.
