Gracie Arlene Huff

Gracie Arlene Huff, age 84, of Danville, VA, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019, at her residence.

Mrs. Huff was born on September 18, 1934, in Danville, VA. She was married to John H. Huff who preceded her in death.

She loved to play bingo, and she ran a bingo hall in Virginia Beach, VA. Mrs. Huff loved going to the Danville Market on Saturdays to sell crafts. The one thing that kept her going was her great-granddaughter, Ava Barrett, who was her shining light. Mrs. Huff never met a stranger.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Mrs. Huff’s granddaughter-in-law, Samantha for her love and care for the past several years.

Mrs. Huff is survived by a daughter, Edie H. Lambert (Gene); grandchildren, Jeremy Lambert (Jessica); Ronnie Barrett (Samantha); and John V. Barrett (Pamela); sister, Liz Dodson; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Cathy H. Barrett;  

Graveside services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 in Hines Family Cemetery with Rev. Bob Huffman officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p .m. until 1:00 p.m. at Swicegood Funeral Home Wednesday, July 17, 2019. After the graveside service, the family will gather at 155 Seminole Dr., Danville, VA.
