Jack Allen Cassidy

Jack Allen Cassidy, age 73, of 180 City View Ct., Ringgold, VA, died on March 25, 2023 at Sovah Health Danville, VA, after a decline in health for the last several years.

Born on January 5, 1950 in Danville, VA, he was the son of the late Raymond Texas and Martha Dix Cassidy.

He lived in the Mountain Hill Community for 52 years and grew up in Providence, NC. He employed with Dan River Mills in maintenance before retiring from a serious head injury on the job. He was a veteran of the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He loved farm life, working with all kind of livestock, going fishing and to car races. On October 30, 1971, he was married to Mary (Candy) Kennon Cassidy, the love of his life for 51 years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter, Gloria Fay McCurry; granddaughters, Amanda and Shia McCurry of the residence; brothers, Calvin Cassidy of Providence, NC and William David Cassidy of California; sister, Ladonna Hanks (Keith) of Keeling, VA; nephew and dear friend, Paul Cassidy (Kathy) of Providence, NC and niece, Leah Smith (Brian) of Georgia.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Allen Texas McCurry; brothers, Charles Michael Cassidy, Raymond Douglas Cassidy and Curtis James Cassidy.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday March 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM in Highland Burial Park with Reverend Harvey Hazelwood officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence.
