Janie M Payne

Mrs. Janie M. Payne, age 73, of Danville, Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021.

Mrs. Payne was born on November 15, 1947 in Danville, to the late Posey Martin and Josie Pyrtle Martin.

Mrs. Payne worked at Health Tex for 26 years and was the owner and operator of Catch A Tan. She was a member of St. Mark’s Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Janie grew up in the Mountain Hill Community; her hobbies were traveling , word search puzzles and crossword puzzles. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. Mrs. Janie was a sweet and sassy lady, who always got her way.

Mrs. Payne is survived by her daughter, Wendy Dianne Payne; grandchildren, Samantha (Fat Belly) Jo Puckett (Kyle Lambert) and TJ Puckett; sister, Margaret Ann Adkins; special sister-in-law, Trudy Bernard; special nieces, Sheila Dodson and Sharon Simms; granddog, Roxy; as well as many other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Payne was predeceased by her loving husband, Danny Ray Payne.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2 PM at Swicegood with Doctor Jerry Foley officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 8, from 6-8 PM. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. At other times the family will be at Janie’s residence.
