Mrs. Jeanette Lillard Knick, age 86, of 134 Harris Place, Danville, Virginia, passed on January 26, 2022, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.
Mrs. Knick was born on November 5, 1935, in Danville, to the late Benton A. Lillard and Virginia Elliott Lillard.
She lived her life in Danville where she worked at JCPenney’s as a bookkeeper, receptionist, and telephone operator for many years before retirement. She attended Schoolfield Highschool. She was a life member of Kings, Daughters, and Sons Alpha Circle, Fairview United Methodist Church, Sanctuary Choir of Fairview United Methodist Church, Dan River Retired Club Chorus, and Danville Senior Citizen knitting club.
Mrs. Knick is survived by three sons, Lee Allan Knick (Barb), Gary Michael Knick (Martha), Robert Franklin Knick (Susan); sister-in-law, Barbara Lillard; grandchildren, Mindy Marsh (Eric), Hollie Dodd (Jeremy), Shabree Shields (Ryan), Dr. Brittany Ragon (Christopher), Chad Knick, Blair Orme (Michael) ; and 7 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Knick was predeceased by her loving husband, Allan Eugene Knick, and brother, David Lillard.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 2 PM at Fairview United Methodist Church with Reverend Stan Wright officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that any donations be given to the Alzheimer Association (225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601).
