John Daniel Baise

John Daniel Baise, 83, of Pelham, North Carolina, went to his heavenly home on February, 22nd, 2024.

He was born on June 12, 1940 to the late Robert “Jack” Jennings Baise and Mae Sue Keatts Baise.

John married the love of his life, Barbara Ellen Steele on July 19, 1961. John and Barbara spent their early married life traveling as he served in the United States Navy. He retired from the Navy after serving 20 years and then settled in Pelham.

John is survived by his children, Mark Baise (Teresa), Wanda Whitten; his grandchildren, Emily Reynolds (Caleb), Jessica Baise, Daniel Whitten; three great-grandchildren, Addelyn, Finley, and Caiden; and brother, William Robert “Bob” Baise (Nellie).

John was predeceased by his wife, Barbara; his sisters, Carrie Lee Cook, Anna Mae Baise, Myrtie B. Guill, Jackie B. Jones; half-sister, Nancy Baise Pitts; and grandson, Anthony Whitten.

John was a faithful member of Pelham United Methodist Church and brought laughter to everyone he met. He was an avid Redskins and Yankees fan. John enjoyed cards, checkers, and playing badminton. He was full of joy, jokes, and had a wonderful sense of humor. “What time is it Papa?” “Time all old dogs are dead, ain’t you glad you’re a pup?!” John Spent many a past times taking long walks. Above all, John loved Jesus and trusted Christ for his eternal security. Now he gets to walk with his savior forever in glory.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 3:00pm at Pelham United Methodist Church with Reverend Larry Durham officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to support Pelham Volunteer Fire Department.
