John Keen Millner

John Keen Millner, age 83, of Danville, VA, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022, at his residence.

He was born on October 31, 1938, in Danville, VA, to the late Charlie B. Millner and Fannie Keen Millner.

Before his retirement, John worked as a doffer in Dan River Mills and was a member of River Oak Church.  He enjoyed shooting pool, riding his moped, and tinkering with lawn mowers.  John loved God, his family, and his 1972 Dodge Dart.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen Lamkin Millner; son, Gary Millner, and his wife, Joanne; grandchildren, Malinda, and Matthew Millner, and niece, Margaret Fears.

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his son, Larry Millner; sisters, Estelle Buckner and Mary Yeatts; and brother, Cecil Millner.

Funeral services will be conducted at Swicegood Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 6:00 pm with Reverend Eric Medford officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Danville Memorial Gardens. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
